Sr. UI/UX Designer
I was hired to improve the user experience, add new features to an existing platform, and create a new web portal for easy and actionable access to the data on-site, anywhere on the mine.
My goal was to define systemwide UI patterns and a unified visual language for the entire platform, including both desktop and mobile interfaces in light and dark modes. I developed a design system and improved the data visualization standards.
Process
With no time or budget for research or usability testing, I leaned heavily on the impressive expertise of data scientists, PMs, engineers and stakeholders to inform my decisions. I focused on identifying friction and how best to improve the user experience.
